I need to know what t-cases i can use behind a AOD and still fit between the frame rails of a '86 ranger.

the 1354 is your best bet it will hold up get a manual tcase and it will be there when you want it unlike the electric ones

Well my trucks got one in it. I think its the 1350. Shuld I just keep it?

the 1350's are fine i went from a 1354e to a 1350m and haven't had any problems yet. the only unchangeable differences are the front output and the 1354 has 6 planetary gears while the 1350 only has 4(some do have 6). the differences in strength are almost unnoticeable there are many other weak links that will break before the planetary gears. but if you can find a 1354 manual and want to spend the cash and time to swap go for it.
