About a year ago i took off my halfshaft due to a torn boot. Ive been able to recently get a new boot and new grease put it all back together. before re-intstalling it i jacked up the truck and spun my two front wheels to check differential where the u-joint is located and it spun free . and spun the T-case wheel which spun free as well. While re-installing i only noticed a bit of leak on my front differential. then With the halfshaft installed i pull out of my garage to hear a loud Snap/Clink noise every 2 feet i move. SO i had a partner drive it and inspected it while moving. ITs hard to tell where the problem is since everything spun freely before installing the halfshaft. i noticed the halfshaft spins like 1/4 turn and the other 3/4 turn has a huge JErk and spins faster. I dont know if its the T-Case since its a live axle system and everything spins either way. ive been driving it on 2wd without the halfshaft. could it be U joint? front differential?
I have a 2003 ford ranger 4.0 FX4 with a Borg Warner 1354 T-case.
Has anyone had this problem before?
