T-5 trans clutch piece stuck back

I finally bolted my trans to my motor to connect the starter but when i did it pinned the clutch piece the cable would usually connect to to the back of the bellhousing, i cant push it foward at all and we have tried removing and reinstalling several time. The piece is on the bottom left coner of the trans where the cable usually connects

And this is a closer picture of the piece i am talking about. Its pinned completely against the backside of the bellhousing and i cant figure out why
