Why not just put cheap Mercon rated ATF in it like it calls for?

ok, so after hours of searching and endless discussions, it seems no one is really sure. Even Ford sees to be a lil confused. So I went with Valvoline maxlife full syn.

I don't know why it's so confusing, any cheap Mercon rated ATF from Walmart or any auto parts store is fine to use.

My 2011 calls for Mercon V in my Transfer case. I’m pretty sure it’s a BW1354. So, it shouldn’t be a problem for you.

Dang, that QT of synthetic is 13 dollars. Farther down on that same page is a 1 (ONE) Litre (LITRE) synthetic gear oil at 35 dollars!
