there is a switch down under the ash tray and it orange and i turned it on idk what it dose dosnt look to be and after market switch

its in a 96 3.0 ranger

If it's a push button switch it's your fuel pump reset button. It's designed for resetting the pump in the event of a crash or hard hit of some kind. As long as the pump runs, it's useless.
