I've got a 94 with front and rear swaybars. I haul 65 gallons of water nearly everyday in the summer on the road and off road. I went into the woods yesterday on my rough log roads with no load. Wow the suspension jarred my teeth loose. Would it be wise to remove one or both the the sway bars to help with articulation and improve the ride off road? This little truck handles the load on the road like a champ and I don't want to ruin that. What do ya think?

You will be fine removing the sway bars. The ride actually improves a lot. You do get more body roll but its not anything crazy. I only have front and I drove around with it off for awhile and put it back on because there was really no reason to have them off in the first place.

rough

Dont forget that you have probably gotten used to the smooth ride with the weight, I keep a few sand bags wraped up in plastic to smooth the ride in my old 86 rbv, there just plain light in the back and it makes traction and ride kind of sucky

Just curious, what do you do for work that requires the water?

soil percolation tests, that's why I'm off road a lot too. This little shortbed truck is sooo much easier to get into wooded areas than my 3/4 ton, 4 door, 8ft bed truck.

Not really, I drive it all the time. It's just that my log roads are real bumpy and U have to crawl to get anywhere cuz of the huge ruts and bumps. I'll have to remove them and see I guess.

Give it a try, you can always put them back on if you don't like it.

65 gallons is about 500lbs? plus the tank, plus the tool box.

with that much weight, up that high, I would want all the sway bar I could get.
