i have a 88 ranger and want a lil more flex from the front, is it bad to take it off and drive with it out, i get sick of unbuilting it when im on the trail so i can i just toss it? this truck is my daily driver too.:dntknw:

I tossed mine a long time ago on my 91, and its daily driven with 6" lift, 3" body lift and 35's. I find it drives better without it. Just remeber its a tall truck when going into turns and you'll be fine.

I totally agree, chucked mine with 5 in lift and 33's, one of the better things that has ever happened to the BII

thats what i did to my old ranger and it was fine then when i got this one i was talking to some one and they said keep it on, i had no prob with my old truck so ill toss this one too, thanks guys for the agreament..mike

you could also easily build a set of quick disconnects...

Unless his sway bar mounted to the radius arm cross-member like mine did, then it gets complicated.

Just pull it, you'll be glad you did.

I unbloted my entir front swaybar, and then the rear, I just unbolted it from the axle (or one of the pivot points) and put a loop of zip-ties (with a bit of slack) in it so that it doesn't dangle, and it has enough slack to allow flex.

I don't have a lift or anything but it drives just fine. I personlly don't think it needs the sway bars. I may make some quick disconnects, my friend wants some for his Jeep, so we are going to make some today.

i just took it off and tosted it, it drives way better i think, alot smoother, my crossmember that goes from one radius arm to the other is two peaces and boilted in the midle my old 84 ranger was a one peace, so i think im going to weld them to gether for more stranth un till i get new extended radius arms, should i get the extended radius arms for my d35, the d35 isent goin in right now intell i do gears,ball-joints,seals all that fun shit, want every thing to be brand new be for i stuff it under the ANGER.

Extended radius arms will fit both the D28 and D35. I'll probably make up a set when I put my D35 in.

have you started on yours sunk? i wouldent mind getting that 8 inch lift on that 88 super cab, 35s are alot of money though,

Radius arms, or the swap?

Radius arms, no. The axles are going in first, then I'll take the arms off the D28 i pull out and mess around with those.

The swap is progressing, I have the axles, gears and install kits. I need to get the lockrights before I get them setup though. Hopefully it'll all come together in the next couple weeks.

i was talkin about your swop. right on i cant what until i start, it will be nice havein stronger shit under me, i got this 302 thats been sitting for 7-6 years all rebuilt ready to go i dont know if i should put that in or a 4.0? im thinkin the 4.0 it sounds like a faster job, hate down time.

IM in the same boat as both of you are. I got a spare 35 and 31 spline 8.8 in the garage, Ive got the lift for the front end all parted together, ive also got the chevy 63's and belltechs for the rear, i still need to extend my radious arms. Plus gears, lockers, tires and wheels. Plus the 44 knuckle and spindle upgrade. And i still need break lines. Crap why did I start typing this response, im so depressed now, I still have so far to go!
