swapping out guage cluster on '00 ranger?

On my 2000 V6 3.0L automatic trans ranger I currently have the gauge cluster with no tach and I was thinking of swapping out my set for a set with the tach on it. My question is what do i have to do to hook up the tach on it...like is there already a plug for it and wires on my truck from the factory or do i have to get that and run them too, and if i do have to run wires for it what do i hook them up to?

I believe all you have to do is get a gauge cluster with a tach and it'll work. I'll sell you my old one for $30+shipping.
 
idk what years are the same as the 2000 they might be 1996 to 2000 but yes if you find a cluster with a tach it will just plug right in and work my 96 ranger came with a cluster with no tach and i got a cluster out of a 98 explorer with a tach plugged right in and it worked
 
yeah, the 96+ clusters get the tach signal from the PCM. The line is already there, the cluster just isn't using the info now. Get one with a tach and it will work.
