Swapping Engine Blocks...93 into a 95?

I've wrenched on many 2.3 engines but most have been from the pre EFI era. I've now ran across an issue concerning an engine swap that has me puzzled.

I have a 1995 Mazda B2300 that has a bad engine and I pulled the 2.3 from a wrecked 1993 Ranger to install in the Mazda.
I have so far only did a visual inspection between the two so I can confirm fitment and ran into a big difference that I was unaware of existing until reading other posts on here. Concerning the camshaft sensor on the 1995 block that isn't on the 1993 block at all.

To make a long story shorter,...... my questions is whether or not the engine will work if I can somehow transfer this sensor to the 1993 block? And if the intake manifold with wiring from the 95 will bolt onto the 1993 block?
Has anyone tried this or made an attempt at it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Quite a bit of work going that way,not to bad putting a 95 in a 93 but too many changes from 93 to 95.You can change all the harness and such from the 93 to the 95 but there again pretty time intensive

also mounting of the sensors needed for the 95 will be a very difficult and precise task, if possible at all. The aux sprocket on the 95 is completely different with a completely different oil pump in it and i dont exactly how the extra cam sensor mounts up to it. Also the crank uses a 36-1 edis trigger wheel on the 95 where the 93 just uses the hall effect sensor. I would say to find a 95-01 motor (2.3 or 2.5) and swap that block in with all of your sensors and accessories and manifolds. the 95-01 blocks will have everything you need and be identical externally.

Thanks for the speedy input guys. And thanks for the detailed info TireIron because that will help me alot at this point in the swap.

Anyone interested in a very smooth running 1993 2.3 with just over 90K?? lol

if you were closer to here I'd grab it from you in a heatbeat as I have 366K on mine right now... I'm just gonna have a shortblock rebuilt with forged pistons and a head built for me instead though.

Gettin up there huh Jason?

I just swapped a 2.5 into mine last weekend. My old 2.3 had right around what yours is at right now. Maybe 370,000. Still ran decent but the power loss was becoming more and more noticeable and blowby was getting bad.
