Yo, i have a 2000 Ranger 4.0 ohv XLT Supercab 4x4 Offroad.

I was thinking to swap a V8 5.0 into my truck, but i was wondering if there would be a difference since its the offroad package?
I dont think it does but i wanted to be sure, also, i know there are many kind of 5.0L like gt-40 and gt-40p that would fit, but i wanted to know what would be the best of the best and also the easiest engine that would fit in my specific truck? And how much should i be ready to pay to get that conversion done?

Thanks

The easiest wil be a 5.0 frm a ford explorer. The front accessory brackets are shorter and plenum is lower and smaller. Pending on what u buy will decide cost. Can be as cheap as 3-5 grand or up to 10-15 grand.

You can find a wrecked explorer complete for less than 1500, and have 98% of the parts you'll need. 99-01 explorers are the years you need to look at, earlier years have a different type fuel system. Total price will depend on if you do it, or have a shop do it...
