Do you have an auto or manual?

As for bolt patterns for the 2.9 and 4.0, they are the same.

I would upgrade to a M5od if you can get it with the 4.0. I would even do it if you have the a4ld auto. Much more reliable and can easily take the torque of the 4.0.

As for the swap, you should snag everything you can get your hands on. The engine, manifolds, ait intake with MAF, wiring harnesses, ecu, bare minimum. I'd even grab things like the over flow, radiator, etc....

It won't last long behind a 4.0L. Heck, they die behind badly driven (lugged) 2.9Ls.

Get a trans for that 4.0L. And flywheel, clutch, and starter.

You'll have to get your rear driveshaft shortened and front lengthened, by two inches.

Best of all worlds is to have the donor vehicle parked in the driveway for the duration of a swap..
