Hello everyone. I have searched around on this forum for a little while, but just made an account. I picked up a 2x4 1987 extended cab ranger today. I am planning on putting a 302 or 351w, with a c6, and np205 t-case. It is going to be a mud truck, no road at all. Going on r1 tractor tires. I was wondering what motor mount kit to go with. I found this one locally.

Would it work ok? Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks

I used the James Duff, but I understand there is a year that the convertable Mustang motor mounts will work. You have to swap from side to side, but I think a few folks have used them. Don't remember the year though.

The c6 or the 205 really isn't an issue. The engine can be a little different. You can use pretty much any mount kit for a 302 ranger, or make your own from 2.9L lowers and some .25in steel plate. The problem with the 351 is the headers. There are little to no options for a 4x4 with a 351. You can get 302 Ranger headers just about anywhere on the cheap.

After reading through PAGES of info regarding swaps, this is the first time I have read about swapping the mounts left to right.

I thought I had the Duff Mounts, but after looking at pics and reading it appears the duff mounts are just simply Mustang sedan mounts (1990 for example). I have them bolted to the block and just kept scratching my head as the Left side of the crossmember and mount just didn't seem to work well. The stud on the mount was just not in a workable position on the crossmember. but hell swap them left to right and everything seems much better locations.
