swapped manual to electric

just wanted to post up that this can be done. I read a lot of posts asking questions about how to do it and what needs to be changed, so hopefuly this will answer some questions for you all that want to do it as well. Swapped my entire dash harness, the GEM, add the security module, swapped in the door actuators/latches, regulators, door panels and switches, door wiring, and bought some keyless entry remotes. wow that looks like a lot of work. I converted from manual to power also. I just pulled the power stuff from a donor vehicle and ran my own wires, relays and fuses. You can still use an aftermarket keyless entry system if you want that.

Did you use Ranger parts or maybe Explorer stuff ?
What did you do for the pwr /relays ?

Good stuff man. I'm getting started on doing this for my first gen. Got a 98 taurus RKE module for it too.

sorry for the late reply scrambler, I didn't have this thread subscribed to. I used all OEM Ranger parts. I didn't have to mess with any relays. After switching the entire dash harness (including the fuse block) everything was good to go!

Wow, Im way late at a response, sorry about that. The only relays need are two dpdt relays for the door locks. IMHO it is easier to do this then swap out all the harnesses. I pulled the dash harness and it was just a pita.
