I have a 87 4X4 2.9l 5speed that has 3.75, its abit of a dog with 29's
I was wounding if it was worth the trouble to swap the axles from my parts truck that has 4.10 limited slip, and is it a hard to do the front
Thanks
R.

I'd do the swap. It will wake the truck up a little, and having that limited slip is always nice.

I forgot to ask would it hurt gas mileage any?

might improve it with those tires if you keep your foot out of it. 4.10 keep the 2.9L in its power band better.

Thanks for all the help. I am going to swap the axles.

I have been looking around and cant find a rubber kit. I figured while I have everything undone replace the rubber.
Is there a good outlet to get a kit or do I have to get them on my one?
if it makes a differnace I am planing to get some explore springs to fix the sag.

I'll be getting rid of my 4.10 7.5 fairly soon, if none of my friends want it and you can't find one I'll let it go for 150. The perches will have to be cut off and re-welded to ranger width though.

Thanks for the offer, I have a parts truck that I'll be pulling the parts axles off of
