Swaped fo7a for f57a trans now cluch slips

Hey guys I swapped out my tranny in my 1996 2wd 2.3 for a newer 98 tranny from an extended cab now it slips badly my concern is I changed from fo7a to f57a are they different? 8 monthes ago I replaced my clutch and slave and recintly the tranny blew so now I got a new one and replaced the slave again kept the same disk and fly wheel/pressure plate as before
What the hell is going on
