how hard is it to take a 3.0 out and put a 2.9 in its place

Same thats involved for any swap from a 3.0L...the vulcan engine (3.0L) is in its own family, you will need the engine, trans, engine harness and computer from 89-92 ranger
SVT

Why? A 4.0L OHV swap would require the same effort and you'll actually gain something from it.

Yep. They make close to the same power and are pretty much both roaches. I see no advantage of it. Easiest would be another 3.0 thrown at it. Swap something that will gain ya something :icon_thumby:

You'll notice a torque gain going to a 2.9, espicaly if you gear it down and put a 5sp behind it.

later,
Dustin
