Swap with a Bronco 2?

I have a 1999 Ranger with 7.5 rear axle. The axle needs to be replaced. I can get a 7.5 from a 1994 Bronco 2. Is this a direct swap or will other things need to be done?

Among other things, you'll have to move your fuel tank to someplace near Alpha Centauri.

Fuel tanks don't like driveshafts.

And I just HAVE to see a photo (including the first few digits of the VIN) of that 1994 Bronco II. It's a nice trick, since the last model year was 1990.

It is possibly an 84 year model. Besides signing my fuel tank up for the next mission to space, will it be a direct swap?

No, the "among other things" includes the leafspring perches being spaced wider, and the driveshaft flange is smaller. Also the brakes are probably smaller.

Ranger axles are not at all rare, I would look for another one at a wrecking yard. Anything from '93-forward will be a direct swap on your '99

The bronco axle has the pinion offset 1 1/4" farther left and would likely hit the gas tank like MAKG stated. "94" BII axle? They ended production in 90. Any chance you mean Explorer?

I'm hearing that only the 98-2000 7.5 are direct swaps. What is the difference from 97 to 98? I have found a 1997. I have not found a 98-2000 yet.

Sack up and swap in an Exploder 31 Spline with disks.

It ran me 180 at the junk yard for the axle
20 for Ubolts and spring pads
40 for shackles to ditch blocks
The perches were ground and moved for free

Thats 240 + diff fluid, pipe dope, brake fluid, etc.

Welllll worth it

There is no difference. '93up is all same.
