Does anyone know if the front suspension parts (ball joints, tie rods, spindle, coil springs, etc.) from the older style Rangers (85 thru 92) will fit onto the newer style Rangers (93 thru 96)? Any place that I could find this information? Thanks for your help.

I'm no expert but maybe I can help a little. Coil springs yes they can swap. Spindles are a no, but... The spindles can be swapped if you also swap the Ibeams, brake assemblies, and radius arms (not sure about that last one being necessary) from what ever you pulled the spindles from. That said going from newer to older would be a down grade as the newer brake setup is better.

Ball joints and tie rods I'm honestly not sure about but I believe they can due to that fact that, IIRC, you can swap out the parts as I mentioned above without changing any of the steering components.

Hope I helped!

Thanks for your help JoshT. You think that my brake calipers won't go on the 89 spindles? I ran across all new suspension & steering parts for an 89 ranger. The 89 rear is wrecked bad. I was wanting to remove the front suspension & put it in my 93, as the 93 front end is worn out (185,000 miles). That was my concern, would my brake calipers go on the 89 spindle. Thanks again for your help.

easiest thing to do for the most part if in dougbt is to cross ref parts numbers on rockauto.com

anyhow...

about the brake cal's, yes the 93's will fit the 89 and vice versa.

the sterring gear will also work from the 93 on a 89 and vice versa.

just so you know, calipurs are the same from the birth of the ranger till 94.5

95-97 brakes can be swaped on also to you 89, but you will need the spindals as well. as they are a dual pistion, bolt on
