I got my 97 5.0 and my 01' R2 and I'm going to buy parts next week and just wanted to double check my list and run it by everyone.
Getting a starter index plate from Ford Racing. They say it only goes up to 95 but the 5.0 went in F-150s until 96. Did they change anything that I need to be aware of and I'm told it should fit fine with the R2.
Getting a Zoom flywheel that is 164 tooth and 50 oz for my HO.
Also getting my clutch kit. They were the same up to 96 so that's pretty much standard.
That should let me bolt them together and drop it between to frame. I'm using a TBI setup from my sons 84 T-bird. He wants to go Carb so it works out fine for both of us. Let me know if my research is bad and feel free to make other recommendations. It's just a daily driver so mostly going with stock items. Thanks guys.
