Swap from 2.8 to 2.3T?

Just out of curiosity how hard would it be to swap from a 2.8 to the SVO 2.3 turbo engine in a 4x4 truck? I'm guess you will need a new transmission. Would a 4x4 transmission out of an 1st gen 2.3 Ranger work?

As far as I know the SVO 2.3l used in mustangs was a Lima engine so yes any 2.0/2.3/2.5l trans/transfer case from a Ranger would bolt up to it.
And you are correct the 2.8l trans wouldn't
