hi everyone. ive read a lot on this forum but wanted to make 100% sure before i did the swap. i have a 1988 ranger with a 6 inch superlift on it and it has 35s on it. i am wanting to know if i can take this lift off the ranger and put it on my 95 explorer sport. any help would be appreciated.

No.

The front suspension of your Explorer is completely different, no interchangeable parts whatsoever. As for the rear, since Rangers are spring over axle and Explorers are spring under if your rear is lifted with blocks it will turn into a 6" drop kit, and if it's a spring lift it will fit if the center pin is flipped, but it will always roll away when parked on account of it will be going down hill.

IIRC '95 was the first year of SLA suspension in the Explorer. The '88 suspension lift will not install on an SLA suspension.

Edit: ADSM put on his ninja costume again. He's right, I couldn't recall first year of Explorer SLA.

You can flip the rear axle, it takes some welding but you will not be the first to do it. You will gain the axle dia + spring thickness worth of lift though if you can't adjust it... (deleting blocks...)

ok thanks eveyone. im glad i asked before i did it. much appreciated

Also, the 95 Explorer is very hard to lift due to the way the torsion bar mounts are attached. On 96 and up they are riveted on and can be removed and dropped for lift, in 95 they were built as part of the frame, and so cutting and welding is needed.
