Well this is my first post other than my introduction... Im new to forums and still learning how to properly use this site. Ive searched through page after page and have gotten alot of the info ive been looking but im still needing a few answers ..

Doing a sas d44 9inch swap on my 02.. Purchased james duff 5.5 coils , coil buckets, and radius arms ,then fabed up some dual shock hoops then cleaned up and overhauled the front and rear end with f&r 11" discs. once front is in I planed on bulletproof steering components.

1st... Whats the lenth differences of leafs from a 97 ranger to a 02 ranger?...(Want to go all spring in rearend 6 inches.) and all i can find is for 97 and old

2nd... Will i have to drop my stock tranfer case and any pics of custom drop brackets?

Any info will be greatly appreciated.

u shouldnt have to drop ur stock case, but if its needed for shaft angle u can shim it down a littlebit on the crossmember.

theres no difference in the rear springs from what i have seen, although if u want 6" id look into the chevy spring swap for the rear, itll flex better and give u a good chunk of lift, look into the tech section for more details on the lengths years and what truck had what chevy springs

thanx for the good info! Im finding my way around this site a little better!

I think im gonna cut off old brackets on the axles and angle them for better drive shaft angles.

Quoted from 4x4junkie;
"if you have a single-cardan shaft (single u-joints at each end), you want both joints close to the same operating angle."
What I get from this is that you should have the trans and pinion centerlines parallel OR the pinion pointed up twice the degrees you would get by pointing the pinion centerline at the rear of the trans u-joint.
Hope I didn't make you more confused,:icon_cheers:

i think i get it ! Haha I just thought by making one end of shaft have no angle (to the axles) it would be less wear and tear! But apparently it would be worse?

So i should shim down the transfercase (if needed) b4 i were to change angles of axles? Im worried about vibration and wear.

Anyone have issue with shafts when goin 6 inch lift sas coil setup?

Update!!! Got the ifs junk out and frame cleaned up but now ive changed my mind and want to do coilovers in stead of the traditional coil. Anyone know the length of coilover id need to get 6 inch of lift. :icon_welder:
