is it possible to drop the rear an 1" or so with a 2" inch leveling kit? just trying to get the short course race truck look. thanks in advance. 2.3 daily driver. :icon_hornsup:

I don't understand what you trying to do? I thought it was for just the front, is a 2" leveling kit for the front, back, or both?
If I was trying to take an inch or to from the back I would remove or replace the blocks between the spring and axle.

oh shit sorry.. i leveled out the front of my truck with a 2" kit but i want some rake in the back. i know if you reverse the leaf shackles it'll drop an 1" or 2" so with either flared or glass fenders would it be a problem?

I think a shackle flip is a good idea, but may not be the easiest, if the bushings and bolts are seized like mine. I'm not sure how much drop it gives but I thought more than 1-2 inches. I'm going to do this myself along with a chevy 64" spring swap. I ditched the 3.5" blocks already and am thinking to go spring under. To gain back same of the drop I'm thinking to use some '97 f-150 shackle mounts, which look like they'll give back 3-4 Inches. I haven't done this yet so its all in the planning phase. I'll have better numbers for you next weekend after install, hopefully. I'm waiting for a Beltech 6400 shackle 'kit' and will see if it comes with the shackle mounts I want. My local ford dealer doesn't have '97 f-150 shackle mounts. I installed a '87 stx highrider front in my '91 stx and lost the blocks and have the 'rake' you are talking about;

you really dont want to flip the shackles it would drop it more like 3in. I would take out a leaf if you had a larger lift it would be easier. i wouldnt lower the back anymore. it is gunna look kinda funny with a pre runner stance and the rear about 6-7in off the ground trust me you are gunna hit the rear bumper on a speed bump if you go over it too fast. when i lifted the front of my truck it had a slight rake to the rear and i would hit my receiver on speed bumps because it was angled to the ground

thanks for the help guys ,had friend of mine who is about 300lbs if not a little more sit on the edge of my bed and it would look funny. im just gonna switch to a 4" front lift.

what is a good weld machine to start with? just got out of high school and i wanna start fabbing.

Find a race shop that will let you volunteer but don't expect to be fabbing right away.
If you keep your mouth shut and your ears open you'll learn a ton!
