Is there anyway to fit a small-block into a stock Ford Ranger without any modifications?

no.

the engine wasnt a factory option, therefore things have to be changed to make it fit.

check the tech library, theres a good write up in there on how to swap an explorer 5.0 into the '98+ rangers. also hit the search, its been covered dozens of times.

EDIT: you dont have to modify the suspension for the engine swap...but you have to change/modify the drivetrane (namely the transmission, mounts, etc).
