Ive got a 95 4x4 ranger and i put a 4" Rough country suspension lift in it. The back suspension seems stiff now going down the road even through town. but bounces like its too soft going down the highway. Going over bridges makes it kinda hop sideways and almost tosses me off the road. Also when the rear tires spin the back starts hoppin really hard and shaking the truck, even in the snow. what the hell is goin on and what can i do?
(It didnt do it before the lift and all i did was blocks and Rough Country shocks, im only running 31s.)

your experiencing axle wrap. this is why tall lift blocks are bad. you can install traction bars to help control it...but the "proper" fix is to lift your truck the real way (shackles and/or springs).

Thanks, yeah i knew the blocks were bad but was way cheaper. Im ordering a new set of Skyjacker leaves. thanks for the help.

well, i know it may be a bit off topic, but im just throwing it out there....personally i ahte using anyhting bigger the the factory 2" block on a ranger due to axle wrap wheel hop etc.....

so, with the 4" Rc lift coming with a 3" block for the back.....it made me cringe, in order for me to gain the height i would need in the back(since i lowered the spring buckets up front 1.5") i would need to run the factory block stacked with the 3" rc block.....and i DEFINATLY aint gonna do some half ass susp setup like that......

so, i acquired from my parts explorer a explorer leaf with a 2" drop shackle on it (really beefy unit too) i plan on running the explorer leafs, plus a add a leaf for 2" lift from the springs, the 2" shackle, and the factory 2" block from the truck as it is, to give me 6" of lift in the back in a much safe configuration then large blocks....and sitll give me a little bit of rake for that agressive stance...

sorry for the thread jack but i think it was helpfull to some

i just wrote this last night, figure it might help ya out here, you can run the explorer leaf plus a add a leaf, and a shackle and do away with the blocks all together, thats what i woulda done ahd i not needed to run the stock block on mine

depends where u cna get them from, most places will only charge u scrap price alot of times, depends how well u know the people at the yard, call around and see what they run local to ya, ive never had to buy any

no more than $100 from a yard but probably less. I did the chevy leaf swap a few weeks ago ($70 for the pair) along with some belltech 6400 shackles to get rid of my 4" block and it gave me more than 4" of lift (probably 5-5.5")

I picked up a set of Ex. leafs yesterday for $50. Get the 4 spring packs. A buddy of mine took the Ranger main leaf, cut the eyes off and put it under the Ex main as a full length add a leaf and together with Belltech shackles he is sitting at about 5.5-6" of lift with the stock block on his 94 Ext cab. You could even remove the factory block with this set up and be at about 4" of lift.
