hey guys
yet another problem with my truck
i just put my trans in and now i have noticed that my engine surges allot at idle sometimes it doesnt do it but most times it does that. my teacher says it smells like its running lean but idk. is this a vaccum leak maybe a iac or possibly the maf what do you guys think, any opinions
thanks
ryan

Check engine light on?

nopee no check engine light on the battery light came on for a minute but then went off...ceaned the maf today and the iac both are good now and it does the same thing.
anyone have any ideas vaccum leak possibly?

i know..i determined that in the first ...its just a matter of what is causing it to run lean wich could be any of the things i mentioned and more..including a vaccum leak..
does anyone have any ideas?

have you checked all of your vacume lines? Might be worthwhile just replacing all of them since its so cheap. What about your intake manifold gaskets? Thats a common problem for a vacume leak. How does your air filter look?

the airfilter isnt horrible its not bad...and i checked and checked again and checked again the vaccum lines and did not see any craked vaccum lines.the only vaccum thing i see that might be a problem is there are two lines going to the air box the exit line used to run to the exhaust maifold intake thing the cold start feature or whatever but since i have a snorkel i cut that line shut and plugged it with a screw, would this be a problem?
how bout a fuel filter maybe??

i took the fuel filter out it seemed a little clogged but not to bad.i am putting in a new one in a couple minnutes but wouldnt a fuel filter cause general running problems not idle problems?
thanks for the help guys
ryan

i also cleaned the pcv valve i didnt replace it becasue it didnt look bad at all

from the tech library

Missing or Bogging - There are several things that could be causing this. First off your MAF may be dirty. Check HERE on how to clean it. Then there are the obvious - plugs, wires, dirty injectors. Tune up items basically.

Loose Intake Manifold Bolts - Check for loose lower intake manifold bolts. Pull your #5 plug and check it out. If you see the fuzzy head or have some oil present around the sides of the plug then bingo. The 93-94 have this problem VERY often. Usually you can fix it by simply tightening the bolts (in the PROPER sequence), but sometimes you need a new gasket. Do you notice a loss of oil with no leaks? Say 1-quart every 1500-3000 miles?

ok guys its none of those things.we checked everything,EVERYTHING...lol it seems to get better when it gets hot but its still there.the only thing left is the injectors.what do u guys think..
no one knows????
thanks
ryan

also have a little oil leak i noticed under the engine..not sure if that has any relevance

read the previous codes and it says lean bank one....but it does not show any codes for right now..but its still running not right....

so no one has any clue guys??

ok guys im really lost i dont know what to do. i cant figure out what the problem is i cant figure it out
