anybody find the superlift kit for an 08 any cheaper than this? $1437 if youll click on the "click to see lowest price" towards the bottom of the page. and the replacement drive shaft is the lowest price ive seen. and free shipping. also, could a person just run the stock drive shaft for 15000 miles or so and then replace it, or is there some risk to that?

That is probably as cheap as your going to get. And you can run the stock DS until it decides to go out. Which could be 1,000 miles or 20,000 miles.

I've seen it go out with 200 miles of highway and 5 miles of off roading.

Locally, I can get a superlift for 1300...both front and rear kit.

My stock shaft only lasted me 5k of highway use and 1 wheeling trip. A friend of mine has over 15k on his stocker and is still running it. Another friend of mine has an RCD and was rocking his stock shaft for 20k, then his RCD diff drop bracket cracked in half(RCD bracket poor design), and that took out his shaft.

IMO, instead of getting that $450-500 superlift shaft, get an adaptor, get a 95-00ish explorer double cardon, have it shortened and bolt it up. I went this route and used brand new parts and I was out under $300. Use a junkyard shaft, put on new ujoints, and this can be done for about the $200 range.

I'll add a link that'll be VERY informative in regards to an alternative for the superlift shaft.

Flip through all the pages, you'll find the correct adaptor for a 98+ tcase. It chronicals my front shaft build including prices and etc. I ended up getting the wrong adaptor...i should've have done my research myself, but it was all fixed via my good little brother that has access to a milling machine and lathe.

My shaft is EXACTLY like a Superlift shaft, but 3/4 the price, and can be done for half the price.

HAHAHA. i've been sorta busy and outta town...wanted it installed before i head out. on with the proof that i beat Eric in this race...lol

Installed it on i think Fri afternoon? The biggest pain was that i'm cool and didnt want to jack the front end up....so to get proper orientation of the rear adaptor and the front joint...the adaptor needed mounted to the case then then front joint mounted...made for tightening the adaptor to the rear joint kinda of a pain in the butt...but easily cured using an ingenious set of tools...lol. Cut up one of my 1/4" socket adaptors for my cordless drill, then used a 1/4" combo to tighten the adaptor to ujoint bolts. Also everything are all allen now too....front D35 bolts for the straps are 1/4-28 x 5/8 i believe. Found out the case threads are M8, front diff is 1/4-28 and the cardon joint threads are 1/4-28 as well. lol.

Been using 4wd when i need it which isn't much right now since i love love love playing in the snow in 2wd...i swear...throw her in 3rd and dump the clutch and play! lol.

on with the pics...
