Anyone running them? Do you like them how do they hold up looking at buying a set for my dd/trail truck

If those are what I think they are, full on mud tires don’t make good Daily Driver tires and absolutely suck in snow. If you want a mud tire, look at a MT.

I only drive to and from work it's like 15 miles round trip. Unless I'm going to the trail. Are they that bad in snow? I figured mud tires would work great in slushy snow.

Full mud tires have no siping and the rubber is hard. Even harder when it is cold. And the voids are great for mud but way to big for snow.

Snow tires have small blocks, tight voids, siping, and soft rubber for a reason.

They were all the rage like 15 years ago... time has marched on.

Mud tires are actually on the softer side, not as soft as a snow tire but softer than a regular street tire.

Mud Terrains are an ok compromise for what you want to do. Now that I'm on the computer and see the tires you are talking about, I would definitely avoid those. The best tires for snow outside of winter tires are all-terrains but all-terrains turn into slicks real quick in mud as does winter tires. So if you are only wanting to run one tire year round, MTs with siping in the treads is going to be your best bet.

The tires you are looking at would be a perfect tire for a dedicated trail and mud buggy.

I guess I'll have to run a trail set and a dd set for some reason I'm just stuck on those swampers. I feel like they will look great on a first gen

They would fit the look for sure. If you can find a set of decent junk yard rims for the mud tires, that might be the way to go. Steel is best since you can beat them back in shape if they get bent. Aluminum tends to bend fine the first time but doesn't like it one bit when you try to bend them back. In any case, you can bend a steel rim back well enough to get you home usually or at least get you back to a road where you can get road side assistance. It might not be pretty but it will work.

Since you are in NC, All Terrains might fit the bill. You get snow but not a lot and not that often from what I understand. There are a few good models out there to pick from. You could run Mud Terrains if you want to keep the mud tire look. It just depends on what you want.

Yeah the snow didnt stick this year so its hit or miss. we see a lot of rain.

I'm using those on my next crawler build. Whether or not they will be a good choice for you is another matter... they are a bias ply tire, they will have flat spots when it's cold, hard to balance, very loud on the highway, poor traction on the road in the rain, and I'd expect them to wear out quickly. If you're OK with all that and the ridiculous price they get for them, go for it... otherwise I'd recommend a radial mud tire.

Well the size I'm looking at is 29x8.5x15 and there 160 a tire Amazon prime. My total dd trip every day to and from work is 15 miles. That includes possible detours. This isnt my only dd either it's just the one I drive to work. I figure I'd get 20000 miles on em maybe 3 1/2 years

If you're OK with that tread life I'd say, go for it. I think 20k is a pretty realistic expectation. They are a really good tire in the mud and in the rocks, you can air them down to almost nothing and they're very durable but like I said they are definitely not ideal for road use.

TSLs were the tire to have back in the day and I still know quite a few people locally that run them. I would have put TSL SXs on my current crawler but Interco was going through their hard times when I was buying tires and SXs were almost impossible to find.
