Anyone have any idea the value of a dark blue 1999 Ford Ranger XLT, extended cab, with a matching cap, a 6 month old rebuilt trans, 16" aluminum wheels (matching spare tie & wheel), 97K miles and a seized engine? The camshaft synchronizer went bad and ruined the 3.0L engine. Has a small dent by drivers side taillight and a ding by passenger door lock. It has a JVC HD stereo with stock speakers.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Let me know what your thoughts are on the value.
I'm just outside of Baltimore in Maryland.
And of course it died a week after moving into our new house, not the best time!

I think it's probably more valuable to you fixed than sold. You won't get much for a 12 year old truck with a blown engine.

What are you looking to get for it? I am in Cecil County.

An older truck like that will not get much with a bad motor. My suggestion is fix it up and drive it.

Agree.. You'd be hard pressed to get $800 out of it with a blown motor. Someone would have to pay to have it towed, and then fix it. They would also be leary of just about everything else because they could not test drive it to make sure everything else worked.

Get a junkyard engine and drive it into the ground.

Well, I've been looking on craigslist and see Rangers around that age and mileage going for between 4 and 6 thousand dollars and I would think I could get a used motor installed for around 2 grand and I just spent $2,200 on a rebuilt trans 4000 miles ago, so I was hoping to get somewhere between $1500 and $2500 for it.

It is the XLT, extended cab, does have the matching cap, power locks and windows, a new battery, a new alternator (brand new Remy not rebuilt), the nicer factory 16" aluminum wheels & Yokohama tires.
On the body, it is in good shape except for a small dent by the driver taillight and a dent on the passenger door by the lock. I also upgraded the original 7.5" rear with an 8.8" 3.73 rear back before I got married. I can throw in a set of taillight guards that I never installed.

Unfortunately, with driving almost 30 miles each way to/from work I need something now and don't have the time, money or effort to do a motor right now. If I was a few years younger, had not just moved to a new house, lived closer to work, had a garage, etc. I would have no problem doing a motor.

Just scrap it out...sell the good parts and buy something running, Bro.

If I had the time and a place to hold the parts, I would definitely do that.
Was hoping that someone out there wanted a decent condition Ranger that they could get inexpensively and do the work themselves.
I know I could go to a local auto graveyard and pickup something for $500-800, so I know someone could get a decent deal on building their own.

Around here, $1000 at most.
