this past fall i had an adventure pulling the motor out of my 93. im gearing up for dropping one back into the truck.

so far ive got a long block on the way, new oil pan, new manifolds, vavle covers, new timing cover, water pump, and a lower intake if i want to swap the fuel system over. ive found 2 peice exhaust clamps to bolt the exhaust back up, and have plans to replace some tranny coolant lines and brake lines while the motor is still out. i replaced the steering colum to fix the horribly rusted out colum that caused shifting issues. something happened where the drivers side of the compartment rusted 10 times worse than the pass. side....anyhow...

my question. what am i in for, for the reassembly? the shop tells me ill have a full gasket kit included for the reassembly of the engine, so i assume thats timing cover gasket, oil pan gasket, water pump gasket, exhaust man. gaskets, and whatever else...so what are the whatever elses? rear main seal? front seal?

tips, tricks, suggestions for making this a success? with all new/used, used in good shape, and rebuild componants, i have the oportunity to start with about the cleanest slate possible, so id like to do this right. this is also a first time engine install.

im also thinking taking the hood off, using a beam i put up in the garage and a chainfall to drop the engine. is this worth the effort, or just get the dumb cheerypicker from work for free? i had lots of great replys from everyones input before, hope i can get some great tips from the guys that have done this before!
