sub noise

i just installed a pioneer basstube and it sounds really nice but when i have the radio turned down or turned off it makes a noise with the reving of the motor through the sub i have installed subs and amps b4 and never had this problem can someone give me some ideas of what i did wrong

you really didnt do anything wrong per say. but your getting EMI. Do you have your RCA's and your power wire running next to each other? you get it normally from a large current source next to your signal wires and the electromagnetic field crosses over. when you turn down the radio. you have really stop sending a signal. (not turned it off) so you will play any light signal you are picking up from the EMI
 
yeah they are running right next to each other so i am just going to have to take it all apart and just run the RCA's a different way thanks alot for the info

yup yup

the rule is power on one side rca's and everything else on another. or dowd the center if you would like.
 
i had that problem before with 2 diff pioneer cd players done wat 4x4fun said and it still done it even moved my ground to see if it was it no luck there finally just got a dual 7 inch flip out cd player and it quit

you can get EMI from alot of things even the HU itself.
