i removed the bed of my 98 ranger stepside to change the fuel pump, and noticed a cylindrical canister near the spare tire carrier.
there were what looked like vacuum hoses coming off of it, but it looks like they had been cut, im not sure if this is actually a problem or not, but my check engine light is always on, and the codes read egr valve...if im not mistaken.
it looks like the guy who owned it before me tried to lower it and stopped and put everything back to "stock".
but with the bed liner out i noticed that there was a hole in the middle of the bed that the guy had cut out and then, very terribly i might add, tack welded it back in place. im not sure if these are related, im just trying to figure out whats going on with my truck. i wanna see 300k miles.
