Well heres the deal. I just picked up an 87 B2. I traded my parts cherokee for it to be exact, value of about $300. The B2 was origonally an automatic that caught on fire a time or two. He change it out to a 5 speed manual tired of problems he was having with the auto. He had it running decent. at least drivable after he did the swap. I was told that the 3 wire harness goin to the 02 sensor was bad, so first thing i did was look under the hood when I got the truck, home. I found the harness that he said was burt, and yes it was, it was burnt up past the connector. I also noticed that teh 3 wire harness going to a box on the firewall was burnt along with teh vacuum line that came off of it, and the 6 wire harness that plugs into the side of the distributor, and 2 of the plug wires had burn bubbles on them. So i went to the junkyard and picked up the peices of harness that I needed. and went to the parts store for an 02 sensor, plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. I replaced all. where I had to hook in the new peices of harness I used stak-on connectors and know they are good connections. Now when I start the truck, it runs not pefect but OK. It does run rich, REALLY rich. Once I take around the block it starts running REALLY bad like it is not firing off all the cylinders. This happens everytime I let it sit for a few hours. Any Clue to what may be the issue? also curious to what the box is on teh firewall with the 3 wire connector and vacuum line. and what the wire is that comes out of the same chunk of harness that goes to the 02 sensor and the old Auto trans wires, The wire I'm refering to goes to the back of the block somewhere and I canty get a good view of what it is from top or bottom. thanx
