I have a 1994 ford ranger xlt 4x4 super cab 3.6l v6 5 speed manual tranny. A year ago i had a new cluth put in and a slave cylender too. 6 months later driveshaft snaped in half, fixed the driveshaft but now the problem begins.

I started up the truck and was in neutral and let the clutch out and it stalled out, now realizing i am in first gear in neutral and i can move the shifter in gears but nothing will ever change out of first gear. And every gear seems to be first, can go into reverse but u stay in one spot and burn clutch was told many answer but i havent found the answer yet any other suggestions out there? I believe the tranny is still good considering i have a brand new clutch, slave cylender and a master cylender which i just had replaced about 10000 miles ago.

Had this happen to me once. I bought the truck and put a bunch of money into it and the first time I drove it to town it got stuck in gear. Same exact symptoms you describe. Towed it home and dropped the tranny out of it, turns out that whoever had it before me forgot to put oil in the tranny after they rebuilt it.:what: Took it all apart, threw some oil in it and a new clutch and I was good to go.

Cliffs: is there oil in it!?
