anyone got any ideas how to get stuck bearing races off the spindle/hub .

Did it seize on there from wheel bearing failure?

Easiest way is to get one from the junkyard. More than likely after you do finally get it off, the old one is going to be scored up to much and will continue to eat bearings.

yup wheel bearing faliure. out side one frozen on ,inside I can move. can I heat it to get it off?

do I need to have the races pressed out of the rotor or is there a trick to it.

Races can be tapped out with a hammer & punch.

For the bearing stuck on the spindle, cut a groove in it with a Dremel using a cut-off disc, then split it with a hammer & chisel (be careful you don't cut into the spindle itself with the Dremel). I suspect the spindle will be fubar though.

You can weld on the bearing racers this will shrink the bearing. Run a bead of weld in the middle of the race all the way around.

alright I got the race off. cut groove like you said . a couple swats with a chisel and its off. now, there are some marks on the spindle like a spun bearing. like bearing material and scoured metal .I filed slightly to smooth, and pulled off inside bearing. It doesnt look too awful bad but there are some marks. If the bearing runs on the race any way and I can slip on the bearing , what would be a problem? why would it not work?

Oops thought you was having problems getting the bearing races out of the hub. You meant inner part of the bearing was stuck on the spindle.

Is the bearing sloppy on the spindle at all? If not, you might be able to get away with it. But if there's play, then you'll need to replace the spindle.

I got bearing on everything except 4 wheel drive is working . as soon as I get taxes back, Im going to replace the whole thing on both sides. I cant relax knowing I have something possibly faulty, waiting to fail at the wrong time.
