stronger 8.8 driveshaft or slip??

What brand of joint are you running?

Spicer all the way, might solve the problem. As we all know once a joint fails it usually takes the yokes as well.

It's breaking due to leafspring windup, no question (you can clearly see a mark in the middle there from the yokes binding up)

Put a traction bar on it and I'll bet it solves the issue.

that break did show a small mark, i assiciated it to when it actually failed. But the second break i had no marks on the 8.8 flange

Tod neither time did the ujoint cross shafts break. Unless the caps broke themselves. But the ears on the slip shaft yoke broke each time.

Junkie i think i will put a traction bar on it regarrdless, its a good idea at this point in the build anyways. :icon_welder:

the same thing happened to me... are the ears on the yoke of the driveshaft ovaled out at all...

what ears.......the outer half of them are gone

Replace the srpings with a healther set and or use a trac bar. Or just try a trac bar. I had sever axle wrap on a bII i had i got a cheap set of bolt on axle wrap control springs from JCW and they solved my problem.. I even reused them on my ranger and they are adjustable..

It bolts on top of the spring between the axle and the front spring mount.

i had a set of explorer springs durign the first break, then the second break occured when using the 63" chevy springs....

I am just gonna build an anti wrap bar and see what happens......The B2 is being put on the shelf for a while anyways while i build my explorer up for winter wheeling.
