I bought a 88 2.9l bronco II to use the engine out of to replace my 86 B2 engine. I had the engine tested and the oil pressure and compression was GREAT! But i notcied when i took off (its a standard) i damn near have to floor it for the bronco to move. once its going down tghe road its fine.. could be be a clutch issue? I havent changed engines yet becasue im worried about this issue.

Thanks!

Make sure the butterfly is opening all the way. See how hard it is to push it in neutral. E-brake stuck?

Sounds like maybe the butterflies aren't opening all the way. You can push on it while someone else looks at the Throttle Body. If it's not completely level then I would say the cable has some slack. You can add zip ties to the cable from under the dash at the pedal to make it up. Alot of us have done it...Including me :D

Well at least I know it doesnt sound like a hard fix.. I can use my other bronco parts to fix that problem... Soon as I get my shop up, im going to do the swap...

Thanks Guys!!!!
