So I have finally ripped the powertrain from my donor car for my turbo swap, but I have a question.

On the passenger side there are two main wiring harnesses that pass through the firewall. I separated them and pulled the main engine harness out, but left the other one in there. Do I need to pull the other one as well? It runs to the rear of the car and supplies power to the fuel pump and such I am sure.

On a side note, after seeing all of the crap I need to delete on this harness, would it be possible to just re-pin the 2.9L harness in the truck the engine is going into? I know it is easy to re-pin a four cylinder harness, but I haven't come across any reference to re-pinning a V6 spaghetti mess.

Thanks in advance!

The issue with repinning a 2.9 harness is that the harness for the 2.9 doesn't run to the same places... all the sensors on the engine are in different places on a 2.3T.

Now, if you had an '85-88 EFI2.3 Ranger harness and you just added the few wires from
the Turbocoupe harness to the 2.3 harness....

The difference IIRC is SIX wires.

I'm in the same boat. About to convert a 1990 Ranger, 2.9L V6 over to a 2.3T, have a complete motor/wiring harness from an '88 TC.

So my best bet is to convert the truck main harness/engine harness first over to an '85-88 EFI ranger? then add in the few turbo specific stuff? There's a bunch of rangers in the local JY, so i'm sure I can easily get a harness.
