So here's my dilemma, I need to regear my truck, 3.73's with 35" tires just isn't doing it. I picked up a lockrite no slip a while back for the rear end and had planned on putting it in when I changed the gears, but I'm wondering how streetable it will be, how much extra tire wear there will be, since this is also my daily driver. I keep tossing around just rebuilding the LSD and stacking it a little tighter, or putting the lockrite in. Just wondering what the experiences of guys that have run these on the street are and what kind of extra tire wear you've seen if any.

Thanks guys

Power Trax comes in either the "Lock-Rite" or the "No-Slip". The "No-Slip" is the streetable one. Part number something like 92-0688-2807 would be for the 8.8 open NoSlip, 92-0688-2827 for the L/S. Been happy with mine for 30K miles

Anything shy of a spool/welded rear is streetable and shouldn't cause any extra tire wear issues as long as you don't floor it around every turn and spin a tire. I daily drive with 35's and detroits front and rear with no issues. It does the click-bang-swerve every once in a while but it's something you get used to and can avoid for the most part once you 'learn' it.

if you've got a manual trans, you wont be letting just anyone drive the truck... sort of a pain I can't let just anyone drive my aussie locked 35'd 4.88'd truck. Parking lots are te only times it's a pain...alot of popping it into neutral to unlock it. Otherwise, VERY streetable. I've got what is most similar to a lock-rite.
