Did some searching, I I didn't miss it if it has been discussed.
I have a 98 XLT, 2.5, 5 speed. Last night it had 3/4 tank of gas. This morning the daughter went to work in it and the gauge was below E. She drove to work with it trying to die with foot off the throttle and while trying to turn. She called me this afternoon and asked if I put gas in the truck.

The gauge is reading 3/4 of a tank and the engine is running like new. I know that the gas gauge is tied into the Generic Electronic Module. Is there something else in the GEM that would cause the engine to run bad?
