Suddenly my truck (-88 2,9l auto 4x4 ranger) stopped pulling. I had a looong line of oil after me, and empty in the gearbox. Crawled under with a flashlight but couldn't see anything obvious. Semes like the oil came out somewhere top front on the box. Sprayed back of the engine. Funny thing is i saw later on the road the leake had stopped sometimes, and then continued, like it had only leaked while pulling.
Had a trailer and full bed, but not anything extra ordinary heavy.
Did I blow a pipe somewhere? Any idea what happened? It's midnight in sweden now, but I hope to get it to a mechanic tomorrow (i'm far from home). I really hope it is an easy fix, or i am in trouble... got to get me and all the load back home from out in the woods.

Any idea?

Transmission Cooler lines that run from transmission to radiator is the only thing I can think of

Yeah. My thaughts too. Does anyone have a scetch or pic of where they are located? Can I get to them without lowering the whole tranny?

The cooling lines are on the passenger (right) side of the transmission. These are 2 small metal pipes which go from the transmission to the radiator.

A line could have split, a fitting could have came loose; or, sometimes the lines have been cut and fixed or replaced with rubber hose, which has now failed.

Problem solved. Isch...
I'll start a new thread on that.
Thanx for input

Good to hear. Curious what you found.
