Could I do this to my Ranger? is it worth it? What axle would I need?

I know its a weaker axle but concidering I haven't broke my D28 beating the snot out of it I highly doubt I would be breaking this one.
My experience with the ol D28 hasn't been near as fruitful, I blew mine in half with 30" tires, open diff with a 2.9

SAS isn't worth it for a D30, To build decent suspension and steering systems, costs way more than a bolt-on kit does. Sure some people have done it cheap, but choppin up your truck and redesigning the entire front end of the truck, just for a loss in axle strength... Just doesn't make sense to me. Jack it up for bigger tires, using an axle known to be weak....![]()
that looks like the housing just gave out... not the axle components. I have run 33's in low crawling rocks and it feels surprisingly strong.
I wasn't planing on bigger tires just the 31's. Whats a good recommended axle?
Since when is the housing not a component? It's the most important one. I would have much rather lost a shaft or a hub that day.
See if you can find an old jeep D25 front axle.that should work great.

idk what you would do to break the housing...lol
