I have a 2008 FX4 Ranger with the 4.0 L engine. I have a 4 inch suspension lift and 33 tires, but like everyone I want more as I keep twisting the front cv joints apart.
I want to do a straight axle swap and get rid of the IFS and run 35 inch tires with room to flex. This is my Hunting rig which see's long runs down the highway from destination to destination, and then does everything from crawling over boulders to crossing creeks to deep mud. I work in the Oilsand mines north of Fort McMurray so money is not a limiting factor of the build. I don't know where to start, but I am leaning towards getting a front axle assembly from dynatrac.

Hey, a local! Welcome to the site, and hi, from red deer..... If you want good custom work done locally, check with mark at LITE/ARMOR, nick from Fabworx, or Clay down at EVO (takes his time though). If your down with doing the swap yourself, I'd contact Chris Durham Motorsports, he was great to deal with on the U.A. and he can build you any axle to whatever spec you want at a very competitive price.

If 35's are your goal, a chromoly'd D44 would hold up just fine....but we all know how that goes. If you have thoughts of going to a 37 or bigger, I'd lean straight towards a 60, or fabricated axle (9"center etc).

Thanx for the contacts, I'll be sure to post up what I decide to do once Huntin season is over. One thing is for sure I won't shortcut anything as I can't afford to be shown up by some local toyota's.

When you get closer to building it, lemme know. I have a few more contacts, and some info for what you wanna build depending on your budget etc.
