is it possible to run a amp on a stock headunit i have a cd player that works really good in my truck and i was wanting to put my old system in it and was wondering how you would run RCA cables from it? probably sounds dumb but this is the first truck i have had that already has a cd player in it and there is no point in spending money on a aftermarket one. oh its a 03 ranger dont know if that helps or not

they make processors that splice into your speaker wires and regulate the output usually by a potentiometer, to a set of rca outputs, i wouldn't recommend this as they generally recommend disconnecting the speaker leads your running the processors off of as it can damage the speakers and deck amplifier. also the amps tend to not be as clear and precise when wired this way. if you still want it, go to best buy or something and tell them what your doing they have a part for like 15 bucks? for one channel R&L processors

^^^^ agreed i hooked my setup like that and my amp only lasted 2 weeks
