How can I determine/know what my gear ratio is in my 92 ranger 4x4? Did they all come from the factory the same?

Being a 2.9 auto 4x4, you likely have 4.10s and the holy grail of RBV diffs, the factory 4.10 D35.

The 90 Ranger I got my D35 from had 3.73s

Thanks.....I thought I looked in the tech library...but I guess I didn't look where I needed

code on the tag on the drivers door was 86...so I guess I have open 7.5 whatever that means and ratio of 3.73

open just means not limited slip.

Way tooo techy for me.... limited slip? Looks like I need to go to ranger 101 class LMAO

Using the calculator this is what it says: Actual ratio is 4 Hi-3.16 New-3.48 Lo-3.79 According to that with my tires I am running on the Lo end? Does that affect my mpg?

I'm thinking it was the Ext cabs that got the 4.10s.

What size tires? Anything over 30" is too big for that engine/tranny/gear combo IMO.
