I am looking into turboing my 1994 2.3 and I have a couple questions. I am planning on running stock internals with about 5 pounds of boost and I am running my 8 plug head and DIS.

Can you just run the stock EEC?

What all needs to be added as far as sensors go? (can I use my stock MAF?)

Will my stock tach still work?

Will these injectors work? http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=CCA-303604&view=1&N=700+150+

I was aslo planning on installing a boost gauge and air/fuel gauge. I read the tech article and it never mentions whether or not I will need to get a chip or anything. I was assuming with low boost the computer wont notice, but correct me if Im wrong.

keep the stock injectors/ use an adjustable fmu and pull thru the maf and you should be ok. And you MAY need to unplug t he o2 sensor so the ecu woulnt try to compensate for the rise in fuel pressure and try and shorten the pulse width.

Won't that throw a CEL if I unplug the O2 sensor? I have set of 15 lb injectors for a 2.3, could I run those and not have to unplug the O2?

Is there an adjustable FMU that you recomend? I was looking at some and I can't figure out where to plumb it in at, Do you leave the stock one on the fuel rail? then tap in to the rubber lines leading to and from the fuel rail?

Do the Turbo Coupe turbos have an internal waste gate?

honestly If it were me i would do it right. Find a full turbocoupe or mustang svo and then do a true turbo swap. this way you will get a turbo built motor/the turbo/ oil lines/ turbo intake manifold/ turbocharged fuel and pcm managment and so on. this way it will be less of an headache. use t he search button as the 2.3L turbo swap has been done 1000000 times.

I have looked at few threads and I decided that I will look for a TC and swap the whole motor, but I am still not sure how to go about the wiring. Do you just swap the motor and harness from the TC then plug in the ECU from the TC? Will the TC harness just plug into the Ranger's at the fire wall for the gauges and what not?

I havent doen the 2.3L swap myslef but there is a few hundred here that have and will most likely have no problem helping you out with that and or pointing you to the information needed as I'm sure theres been a few threads on the subject. My advice si do all the research firs tand know everything top to bottom. So that when it comes time to swap the motor your truck wouln't be down for long and it will be hassle-free. Also craigslist is s good place to check for 2.3 turbo cars. The 2.3T came in the mustang svo, thunderbird turbocoupe, merkur x4r and sometimes you can even find 2.3T swapped rangers on there.
