If this was discussed, sorry!

So everyone knows. A dome light from an Explorer will mount right up to your Ranger with no issues. My 98 had that shotty stock dome light that broke the moment you tried to remove the cover to replace bulbs.

The Explorer dome light looks better and has 2 rear switches ( for driver and passenger map lights ) and the cover comes off far easier! Just a heads up for anyone looking to replace their dome light for what ever reason. If you want to see a picture, let me know and i'll post one later today.

:headbang:

You can also use other Ford dome lights such as the "Mustang light" also same styles found in taurus and other Ford models.

That's right....plug and play, Bro!!!

Just got my Ranger. The previous owner took off the cover and the plastic reflector of the dome light. The main bulb is removed because of a door latch switch problem (WD40 trick did not work). I think the sliding switch is also bad since the map lights do not work unless I touch them and bend them down slightly?! (weird). the sliding switch seems to do nothing it has 3 positions and i can't figure out what it is supposed to do. Any HELP appreciated!
