hey guys, feel like i'm beating a dead horse here. but my 87 b2 won't hardly rev past 2400rpm. it idle's kinda rough and rev's smooth until 2400ish. i just replaced the TFI. and i don't have a multimeter to check and make sure its not grounding out. anything else i can check?

i have replaced the TFI,
checked grounds from battery/frame/etc.

it was running great last week! then moved from 70 degree days at 6000 feet above sealevel to 110 degree days and about a 1000 feet.

pull codes, you're guessing without first doing that.

i knew someone would say that. is there any other way to pull codes other than using the idiot dummy light flashes? i don't have the dummy light anymore so it might be difficult to watch it flash.

for the tfi, you can remove and test at most parts stores for free, if you rell want to check it yourself, again ifound in the tech library.

if you know someone with a diagnostic computer you can pull codes with most of them. I just picked up a bluepoint YA3140 and was well worth what I paid, even though it was in the $350 range. You can also pick up a cheap "code reader" for early fords which is basically a blinking light inside a fancy plastic housing for about 20 bucks.
