Installed a pre bled slave cylinder assembly and can still pull the transmission in and out of gear without the clutch. The clutch assembly is new as well. Any ideas?

If photobucket would work I would upload a video. It looks like the slave/throwout is moving around 1/2".

The transmission input and output spin by hand in conjunction with the gear it's in, when I had it on the floor. The shift rails were centered when I put the shifter in. I pounded the input bearing into the flywheel as far as it would go. Pretty lost on this one.

Start the pickup and put it in neutral and you can stop the output by hand, put it in gear and you can't stop it. Not sure why a pre bled slave isn't disengaging the clutch. I did have to swap out the rod on the master because the one they sent was like 2 inches shorter.

Not sure I remember the past problem?

So in gear engine idling with clutch pedal down all the way the output still spins, can't stop it, but in Neutral it can be stopped from spinning, so not a transmission problem.

Clutch disc too thick for pressure plate or pressure plate to short for clutch disc, so slave can't push in enough to release pressure on the disc, 1/2" should be plenty of movement

The past problem was that I couldn't get it into gear while running. After pulling the transmission 10+ times I gave up for a few months. That's when I bought a new pre bled slave. Same clutch, pressure plate and flywheel, with less than 3000 miles on them. I just pulled the transmission again to see if I put the clutch disk in backwards, but its flat side to the flywheel, hub/spring to the pressure plate.

Pressure plate and clutch look good to me. It's 70$ for a new set. But don't really wanna throw money at it.
Only other thing I can think of, and Idk why it was this way. But I ordered the pre bled slave for an explorer, like I said earlyer the rod was nearly 2 inches shorter, so I swapped them. I wonder If the throw out bearing or something else is shorter as well.

There are pins on the pressure plate that have alignment holes. When my girlfriend pushed in the clutch I didn't see the pressure plate even move, just the forks on it..

I got on rockauto to perform a warranty return, it turns out I ordered the part for a ranger. It was an ams pso716, which is also the only pre bled slave they sale for an Mazda b4000. I'm still unsure why the master cylinder clutch rod was 2 inches shorter than mine, the 2 pickups are the same.

Based on what you said it sounds like its moving plenty. The ranger i picked up the PO had the slave cylinder/through out bearing stacked wrong where the spring was against the pressure plate. so it is possible for you to have installed wrong.

What i would suggest is still link the photobucket video or go to flickr and upload. we can still follow the link to your PB profile and see the video. without physically seeing it its all just what ifs.

but ill be honest it sounds like you screwed up the slave cylinder install by swapping out to the shorter rod. sounds like everything is moving correctly as the pressure plate itself doesnt move once bolted down just the fingers as you stated. may not be moving far enough. where is your clutch pedal inrelation to the brake pedal when it actually starts to engage? is it farther down and loose up top or does it start to have pressure on it right away.

It had the longer rod in it, with the shorter rod the pedal hit the floor before it even engaged the master. And I have pressure immediately, I checked my old unit, and the movement is right at a 1/2" which is nearly a 1/16" away from full movement.

I pulled the transmission out yesterday hoping the clutch was in backwards, it was installed with the hub/spring side towards the pressure plate, flat side to the flywheel.

Every time I try and upload the photo it just tells me I can't play the video, I sent myself the link but it said 404 no link found. So idk

Photobucket died for linking unless you give them $400/year.

That's gay, I guess I'm gonna go ahead and buy a new pressure plate and see what happens. I'm not really sure what else to do.

As you can see the clutch was in hub side towards the pressure plate, and there is minimal wear on the fingers.
