Stereo retention bracket

First of all hello this is my first time posting here so hi!

I was trying to remove my factory stereo today and I was having trouble, so I partially removed the dash trim to take a look and the left retention bracket was broken. It looks like it got pushed in then bent out, anyway this makes my DIN removal tool useless and I can not get my stereo out. Any Ideas on how I could go about getting it out?

I have had to actually drill some dashes to get something in to pry the retention bar back into place. Like close to where the release tool goes in. If you chose to do this make sure it is in a spot where it won't screw up your dash and make it an eye sore.
